Information on anesthesia for people having eyelid surgeryLocal anesthesia is the most common type used for people undergoing eyelid surgery. With local anesthesia, the patient remains awake, nu the area around the eyes is numbed by the anesthetic. The patient may feel some tugging, pulling or minor pain. If other procedures are being done in addition to the eyelid surgery, general anesthesia may be indicated. Any anesthesia has an element of risk. Be sure to inform your surgeon and the person administering the anesthesia of any medications or supplements you are taking. You should also take care to follow the pre-op instructions carefully. |
